The Kincardine Home Hardware Novice Rep Kinucks team played its first official pre-season game on Friday night in Goderich. The first period was scoreless as rookie sensation Jamie Brock “stood on his head” time and time again. One Goderich spectator was over- heard describing the young net-minder as Patrick Roy like – circa 1986.
The second period was a different story, however, as the novice Sailors sniped two past Brock. With Justin Moulton on his left wing, first line centre Bryce McFadden had seen enough, and in the third period, he stormed in on a break-away, pointed to the top corner, and zipped a wrister over the blocker of a defenceless Goderich goalie.
First timers Christopher Coady, Travis Anderson, Austyn McArthur, and Brennan Long put the young Sailors to the test but it wasn’t enough as Goderich added one more to win the game 3-1.
