The Presto-Crest PeeWee Hockey Club has emerged from the summer in excellent form.  Under the guidance of coaches, Corey Morgan, Steve McFarlan and Mike Brough, trainer Steve Liddle and manager Scott Rees, the team has played 4 games to date and has been victorious in all of them!

Brad Liddle is doing an awesome job between the pipes!  He is flexible, is able to catch well and looks to be unafraid of those pucks aimed at his person.  The stalwart defender are:  Evan Brown, Marshall Smith,  Clint Parker and Joel Riggin.  They have demonstrated a nice balance of "playing close to home" and rushing.  The fast flying forwards are: Kaleb Brough, Aidan Calcutt, Sam Culmer, Brent MacDonald, Scott McFarlan, Braeden Morgan, Austin Rees and Logan Shewfelt.  The parents and coaches have noted good fore and back checking.

On the Friday Night the team played in Goderich.  McFarlan opened the scoring with assists going to Calcutt and Parker.  McFarlan scored again early in the second with Brough and Riggin assisting.  Shewfelt potted a lovely one after being fed the puck by Rees. Calcutt from Shewfelt and Parker scored Presto Crest's 4th goal.  The  Goderich Sailors then managed to get on the scoreboard.  Answering the call was Smith who took the puck end to end and popped it in the Sailors' net!  The Sailors then rallied hard and finally succeeded breaking through the PC defense and scored their final goal.  This seemed to fire up the Presto-Crest team.  McFarlan passed to Rees who rocketed the puck in between the pipes.  Riggin was successful in his end to end bid and Shewfelt, assisted by Brown, scored the final goal of the evening.  8-2 for Presto Crest.

On Sunday evening, the Presto-Crest team visited with a fired up Mitchell Club.  With 3 wins behind them , the PC team may have been a bit too relaxed at the onset of the game.  Mitchell open the scoring.  Shewfelt, assisted by Calcutt answered the call 30 seconds later.  Mitchell scored twice more and the Presto-Crest team started up their afterburners!  Rees scored with assists awarded to Calcutt and Shewfelt and approximately a minute and half later, Shewfelt. assisted by Morgan and Riggin tied it up.  Early in the second period,Shewfelt earned his hat trick when he went in alone to face the Mitchell "D".  McFarlan, unassisted, also bulged the twine.  Mitchell, undaunted, scored again 11 seconds to go in the 2nd period.  Early in the third, Parker scored, assisted by Culmer.  Smith (Bobby Orr)  deked through the Mitchell players for an unassisted goal.  Calcutt also unassisted scored late in the third for PC's last goal.  Mitchell, with great veracity, was able to sneak one in with 6 seconds to go.  Final score:  8-5 for Presto-Crest!
