Presto-Crest meets a Storm and a Cyclone!!!
Submitted by Maria Riggin
After several weeks of calm weather and clear sailing, the Presto-Crest Hockey Club met up with some inclement weather indeed.  On November 4th, the PC boys met up with the Saugeen Shores Storm.

The Storm came on strong scoring 2 goals in the 1st period of play. Early in the second period, Evan Brown handed the puck to Scott McFarlan who snaked through the opposition and chimed one in for Kincardine. This was followed by 2 quick goals from the Storm who also opened up the scoring for the third period. Logan Shewfelt felt lightening strike with the assist going to Marshall Smith. Despite the loss, it was an electric game with lots of great plays and opportunities.

On Wednesday evening, the team attempted to batten down the hatches when they met with the Listowel Cyclones. McFarlan, on a nice pass from Sam Culmer opened the scoring. Two minutes later speedy Austin Rees, assisted by Shewfelt got the 2nd goal of the night. McFarlan then pounded his second goal of the evening ably assisted by Clint Parker and Joel Riggin. Listowel, recovering from the strong opening by the Presto-Crest Team, scored 3 goals in succession. Presto-Crest, somewhat unnerved by a series of penalties against them, gave up 2 goals in the second period and 2 more early in the third. Having noted that, the PC team never gave up and midway through the third period, Culmer through persistent play hammered one in with Smith and Shewfelt picking up the assists. The Kincardine coaches and parents were pleased to note that despite frustration, the team did not quit and demonstrated good sportsmanship and commitment.
