Presto-Crest Weathers a Cyclone...
submitted by Maria Riggin
The mountains of snow must have pumped up the Presto-Crest AE PeeWee Team on Saturday afternoon when the boys met their nemesis, The Listowel Cyclones, on home ice.

The Cyclones came out strong and scored early in the first period.  This brought out the best in the PC team.  Logan Shewfelt was the winner when he backhanded one in the net.  Bringing out their offensive game, Brent MacDonald and Scott McFarlan sent the puck out to linemate, Sam Culmer who fired one in from the blueline.  Listowel answered the call to tie up the game at the end of the second period.  After the break, Presto-Crest came out strong.  Good team play resulted in Joel Riggin going up the ice alone to elude the Cyclone goalie. For extra security, Kaleb Brough chipped in the puck after the forward line's play, peppered the goalie. Shewfelt was awarded the assist on that one.  Not to be outdone, the strong Listowel team got the last goal but The Presto-Crest team enjoyed the 4-3 win.  Kudos to Braeden Morgan and Austin Rees for good playmaking; Morgan seems to be able to be in the right place at the right time and Rees' speed and shot can frustrate the opposition and fire up the rest of the team. Great defensive play with the  Brown/Smith and Parker/Riggin pairs and the team's fierce goalie, Brad Liddle.
