NOVICES MAKE IT TO FINAL OF DURHAM TOURNAMENT !!!
On Saturday the Kincardine Home Hardware Novices traveled to Durham for a one day tournament. 

Kincardine Kinucks @ Stayner Cyclones
They played at 9 AM against the Stayner Cyclones and blew this one wide open after the first period with a 6-0 lead, goals were scored by, Liam Colhoun (3), Wilson Shipp (2), and Jordan Beisel.  Assisting on the goals were Zach Wall (2), Shipp (2), Colhoun (2), Georgia Tanner, and Jordan Moulton.  Jordan Moulton added the only other goal of the game in the third period and it was set up by Tanner, and Colhoun.  The final score was 7-0 with Trent Courtney earning the shutout!  

Kincardine Kinucks @ Durham Huskies, 'A' Semi-Final
Game #2 on the day was against the hometown Durham Huskies.  Kincardine took the home crowd out of the game in the first, building a three goal lead on goals from Colhoun, Claire Hunsburger, and Wall.  Assists went to Tanner (2), Wall, Colhoun, Shipp, and Darcy Scott.  Colhoun scored the only goal of the second period from Tanner, and Kaleb Smith.  Wall added two more goals in the third and assists went to Beisel, and Hunsburger.  Colhoun scored on a penalty shot to close out the scoring and earn Kincardine a 7-1 victory and a trip to the championship game.  

Kincardine Kinucks vs. Port Carling Thunder, 'A' Finals
The championship game was against Port Carling Thunder.  The players and coaching staff knew this would be a very tough game to win and understood that momentum would go back and forth.  All the spectators for this game saw a very quick paced game with lots of scoring.  Kincardine was ahead 3-2 after one period.  Goals were scored by Colhoun, Wall, and Shipp.  Getting helpers were Tanner, and Shipp.  Colhoun scored three goals in the second period, only to see the teams be tied at 7 after two periods, Wall added a goal as well in the second frame.  Assists went to Tanner, and Hunsburger.  The crowd was on the edge of there seat for the final period, and unfortunately the boys from Kincardine ran out of gas and dropped the game 11-8 with an empty net goal being scored with 53 seconds left.  The lone goal of the third was scored by Wall. 
Zach was named the Finals team Most Valuable Player, congratulations to Zach and his teammates for playing there hearts out in the championship game.  

HOME HARDWARE KINUCKS TRAVEL TO LUCKNOW  
On Tuesday, January 11th the novices went to Lucknow for a mid week game, and came home with a convincing 10-0 win.  Goal scorers were Liam Colhoun (2), Zach Wall (2), Jordan Beisel (2), Wilson Shipp, Darcy Scott, Kaleb Smith, and Jordan Moulton.  Assisting on the outburst were Shipp (5), Claire Hunsburger (3), Colhoun, Georgia Tanner, Zach Wall, Ethan Petrie, and Beisel.   

Next action for the Novice Rep team is this Wednesday, January 19th at 7 PM as they travel to Teeswater.
