The Montgomery Ford Bantam girls picked up a pair of victories in the past week.
Nov. 2 in Southampton, a determined group overwhelmed Saugeen Shores 5-0.
Megan Stewart-Kemp scored a pair with singles going to Tegan Moore, Nicole McLeod, and Lara Clubb.
Assists were garnered by Rachael Whitney (2), Darby Watterworth, Mercedes Battler and Eden McFarlane.
Amber Howald picked up the shutout between the pipes.
Howald's shutout streak lasted nearly another complete game, when Kincardine hosted Georgian Shores in
Tiverton Saturday. Our Bantams dominated play but were continually denied by the visiting goaltender.
Clubb was able to score one late in the second period assisted by Gracie Stewart and McFarlane.
Georgian Shores, however, converted a chance and broke the shutout streak with only 3 minutes left to play.
Our girls found a way to win though, with Battler knocking in a loose puck with only 26 seconds left on the clock,
the assist going to Moore. This made a 2-1 final for an ecstatic and relieved team.
