Midget girls defeat Nomanby rivals
On Sunday Jan.8 the Kincaedine girl's midget house league team travelled to Ayton to take on Normanby.
This was the girl's first game after their christmas break and the turkey and trimmings didn't slow the girls down a bit.
The game started at a fast pace and within 12 seconds the Kinucks had their first goal. Left winger Sarah Leydon had good wheels around Normanby defence and liftes the puck past the goalie, assisted by centre Mercedes Battler.
In the second period, right winger Alexandra Courtney was able to sneak a shot past the goalie, unassisted. All the girls continued to play hard into the third period and were able to fend off Normanby, winning the game 2-0.
Goalie Meagan McDonald had a geat game and stopped a number of shots.
