Tournament action February 10
The Kincardine Kinucks resumed tournament action on February 10th when the girls traveled to London to participate in the 22nd Annual London Devilettes Tournament.
To start the tournament off, the girls met
Lakeshore. They quickly dominated the opposite squad, displaying great
puck handling and passing. The game ended in a 6-0 victory for Kincardine.
Goals were scored by Lauren Eby, Emily Simpson, Sarah Catto, Lindsey Gossell, and Sarah Leydon with two. With the assists going Emily Simpson, Dayle Smith, Mercedes Battler, Rachael Whitney, Alex Courney, Amber Woods, and Karen Roppel with three.
Kincardine's second game saw them face off against a highly skilled
Windsor team. Although there were great plays between both sides, Kincardine was not able to get past the Windsors goalie. The score of this game was 4-0 for Windsor.
The third game brought Kincardine up against Twin Centers. It was a tight
game, with both teams battling it out for a place in the quarter finals.
With just 3.6 seconds left, Emily Simpson puts one in the net, securing
the girls' place with a 1-1 tie.
Game four brought the girls up against LaSelle. The girls put up a great
fight, but unfortunately fell short, losing the game 2-1. Lindsey Gossell
put them on the scoreboard, with the assist going to Dayle Smith. Meagan
McDonald played a strong game in net.
