Atom LL 2, 2011-2012 (Kincardine Minor Hockey Association)

After 3 straight losses, Atom LL 2 was finally able to pull out a win on Feb. 15th against Lucknow.  A shutout was earned for goalie Trent Courtney. The first period Courtney had to make many saves as for 8 1/2 out of 10 minutes the opponents were in the Kinucks end.  With a score of 0 to 0, coach Gibson talked to the kids after the first, and it seemed to work. 

Atom Local League 2 travelled to Ripley on Saturday January 21st.  The Wolves were out for blood but the Kinucks ended up with the win.  Robert McGregor scored the first goal in the first period but Ripley came back quickly to tie it up.  Thomas Nancivick and Michael Primeau showed some defense skills they must have learned at practice, as Ripley could hardly get to Kincardine net.  

Kincardine Kinucks came away with a win Friday night after defeating Hanover 2-1.  Cale Gibson opened up the scoreboard in the first period on a break away goal setup by Trent Pletch.    Trent Courtney determined to earn his first shut out of the season was put to the test by the Hanover squad.  Time and time again Courtney made save after save and kept his team in the game.  The lone goal scored by Hanover was tipped in off a Kincardine players skate and the commentators of the game stated "Not even an NHL goalie could have seen that one coming...".   

Atom LL2 hit the ice on Friday October 28th in an exhibition game against Atom LL1.  The first period had Team 1 coming away with 2 goals by Josh Catelo and Kevin Coady, leaving the score 2-0.  Nathan Williams from Team 1 had lots of shots on net but made the saves in the first period.  With some talk from the coaches between periods, team 2 was able to score 2 goals in the second by Robert McGregor and Andrew McDonald, assisted by Cale Gibson.
