On October 28th the Kincardine Canadian Tire Atom Girls Rep team travelled to Markdale to challenge the Markdale Shooting Stars.
Warming up in the first period, Brooklyn MacArthur got things started with a goal assisted from Georgia Tanner and Aysha Machan. Following her teammate, Claire Hunsburger fired one past the keeper assisted by Jessica Anderson. MacArthur wasn’t finished and put a second goal past Markdale’s goalie with another assist going to Machan finishing the first period 3-0 for Kincardine.
The second period proved challenging for both teams with no points earned. MacArthur on a solo mission added another point on the board and a hat trick to start the third period action. Hunsburger then tried her skates on a solo mission making the score 5-0. Markdale Shooting Stars then shot back sneaking one in past goal tender Marcel Platt putting a point on the board. Hunsburger scouting out the ice, again on a solo effort adds a point to Kincardine’s score and earning herself a hat trick title as well. Tanner was quick to follow the pattern adding to Kincardine’s total, assisted from Machan and MacArthur. Machan, taking things to the next level tried her stick skills out putting the rubber between the pipes with the assists going to MacArthur and Tanner. The Shooting Stars once again shot back making the score 8-2. Finishing off the third period, with some passing practice, Anderson put the puck in the twine off Machan and MacArthur with Emma Dixon finalizing the 10-2 win burying the rubber off a pass from Hunsburger.
