Montgomery Midget Girls play two of 1st regular season games
The 2013 hockey season official league play starter for Montgomery Ford midget girls team Tuesday night in Tiverton to play Tiverton Thunder for a season opener. With both teams knowing each other and having played sports together with one another at one point, going to school together or even hanging out with each other for social reasons on  a weekend, this would likely be a tight – fun filled – competitive game to participate in or even just watch. Well as it be the Tiverton arena did had a fair crowd being so close, there was lots of cheering for both teams ! The game did go back and forth in score thru out the periods, with both teams having even shots, over 3 –15

minutes periods, likely 30 each. Was till the last 7 minutes of the game when the score was tied for both and defensively both teams kept it this way to finish a very well fought and played game with 4-4 tie Smile . As coaches from both teams I’m sure were also pleased with the out come of this game. Next game Tiverton & Kincardine match up will be not till Dec 7th in Tiverton again ! Both teams will have developed even more for another close match .

On Thursday, Oct 24th, Kincardine traveled to Teeswater to play South Bruce “C” team on a dark rainy windy night in another exciting game against a team not seen yet this year. With Kincardine  girls getting things going mid way scoring a goal in the 1st period and another in the 2nd period to take a 2 goal lead to start the 3rd period. After the flood  and the team discussing tactical plays and to make sure to try to stop South Bruce , yet the really came out hard in the 3rd period , succeeding at scoring 2 goals to tie things up.The penaltys issued in this game were 2 to 1 against Kincardine, not sure why as as any coach would say seemed unfair in a way with little contact being made. 3 min’s left to go in the 3rd period Kincardine was now serving 2 penaltys back to back, so with 3 on 5 now, things seemed un-easy as faith prevailed and Kincardine managed to create a break away and score 10 seconds into this double minor on a penalty kill . The Kincardine girls managed as a team to hold the 3-2 lead and win the game , and i must say when standing on the bench as a coach, i felt the loudness in cheering from our girls to be as loud as winning the final game in a tournament as was our 1st win of the season and all the coaching staff were very proud of the team Smile . The girls are understanding how attending practice is helping and the spirit each of these ladies have . The Teams next game Oct 29th vs Mount Forest Ram “C” team
