Montgomery Ford Midget girls play 3 games this past week and with Team success !!!
The Montgomery Ford Midget girls "C" hockey team had a busy week over Halloween , with their usuall Monday night practice and 3 games scheduled for the week ! On Tuesday night the girls matched up in a league game vs Mt Forest Rams "C" team. The Ford team  really came out to skate 45 minutes of Maple Leaf hockey it seemed , creating lots of shots and nice plays all game winning confidently 8-0 and the best part was every player on the team created a point or more per skater ! Well done . The team had another gathering on Wed night for our team photos and small meeting to prepare of our two weekend games against Bruce Peninsula "C" team on Saturday night and Sunday night to match up against Upper Maitland "C" teams at the D/C .

On Saturday Bruce Peninsula brought our toughest battle yet with a very exciting back and forth game, as all players doing their jobs, on defense, forwards and of course our goal keeper . The girls were anticipating a rough game as historically this has been a feisty match up; however, although the teams shared 8 minutes in the sin bin, the game wasn’t particularly dirty. With the game in full swings taking a 2-0 lead in the 1st period, the Bruce girls answered back early in the 2nd period to make it 2-1. Starting the 3rd period ,the Ford girls made a 3-1 jump, but with 7 minutes left , Bruce Peninsula scored to narrow to gap to 1 . The girls were able to hold them off and maintain the lead for a 3-2 victory  on this exciting game !! The girls appear better able to get the puck tape to tape and steady back checking and overall grind from defense are helping Amber guard the net.
Sunday nite at the D/C , Montgomery girls played Upper Maitland in a well controlled and fast game of hockey , wanting the puck as much as possible. The team really cycled line changes well and kept good pressure on and after the 1st period was over taking a 4 goal lead. Hoping that the team would not go to sleep or get lazy , both teams were scoreless in the 2nd period. With both teams racking up 6 or 7 penalties each thruout the game , all players did what they had to to keep the play going best we could in our direction. We did win on 2 powerplays this game scoring and our penalty killing was right on the money not giving up a power play to the opponents ! Tonites final score was 6-2 , as the crowd cheered and the team met at center ice to shake hands with Upper Maitland after our victory .
Next Game Saturday Nov 9th @ 6:30 in the D/C vs Blyth/ Brussels .
