The Ford girls hold a tie vs Blyth/Brussells

The Montgomery Ford Midget girls "C" team with 2 Bantams called up, to be matched up against the undefeated Blyth Brussells team on Saturday night @ the D/C for 45 minutes of excitement and hockey. Both teams started with similar league stats and were close in points to date , yet both of the teams were undefeated to date , having wins and a tie or 2 . The Ford ladies and coaching staff were inticipating a fast rough game , which as everyone knows, intimadation always affects the opposing team. With our pre-game game meeting discussing and sharing ideas of what kind of a game we were in  . After the team warmup, team chant and the whistle of the ref

to start the game , at hte drop of the puck we knew a battle was ahead of us based  on how the team played last seasn and also what other teams  from other centers mention they are of the roughenss . The game started fast and hard which made it seem maybe it would be a clean game..... with in the 1st period Blyth was able to score 7 minutes into the game . Then the cross-checking starts with Kincardine trying to create a goal  and one thing leads to another . Finishing the period with Blyth leading 1-0. Quick team huttle on the ice to start the 2nd period and the girls went back at the game while Bylth made some opportunity for us with players in the penatly box and allowing a PP to develop. Now kincardine scores to tie things up with  8 mintues in the period and then the game gets rougher and dirty with sticks and elbows . The Refs did a great job or controling this game and issues necessary penalty's to prevent things from getting out of hand ! . Was nearing  the end of the period and Kincardine girls were caught and ran out of gas with .41 seconds for Blyth to score and take the lead before the 3rd period. The Ford girls re-evaluated how the would play in the 3rd, willing to play hockey with heart and not to re-taliate with sticks> >> which paid off by being able to score on a power play to tie them with 8 minutes to go........ Every player were giving 110 % to maintain and keep the tie to finish 2-2 . Kincardine was happy with the tie and both teams still remain undefeated in the league. The team penatly scores were different though with Kincardine having total 12 minutes total  vs Blyth with 18 minutes and 3 -10 minute misconducts above , of which all minor penalty's were stick infractions . The coaching staff was very proud of the Kincardine Midget girls efforts . The teams next game is in Lucknow Tuesday Nov 12th @ 7:00pm
