Ford Midgets split 2 games this week
The Montgomery Ford Midget girls played 2 games this past week Tuesday in Lucknow & Sunday morning in Ripley vs South Bruce . The team of players in this age category are busy ladies with part time job, school , and other actiivties that make it tricky to have a full team each event , which can effect or have some impact on end results. Tuesday evening drive to Lucknow was some what nasty with slippery roads , snowy wet conditions -- now is the time to get snow tires installed ! The  team went with a full squad with 1 Bantam call up and Sofia our back up goalie . Kincardine lost a pre-game season earlier in the year  to Lucknow realizing they would have a tough game ahead of them.

The girls have been keen and playing well lately and  as it turned out Kincardine in the 1st period decided to play the entire game in 1st period by scoring 4 goals to start the 2nd period with a 4-0 lead . It seemed that was maybe enough goals for Kincardine now as we seem to cruise in the 2nd period allowing Lucknow  a chance to catch up by giving up 3 goals to start the 3rd period now with a 4-3 lead. After the flood , and team chat, Kincardine and Lucknow played a scoreless back and forth 3rd period for both teams to finish the game with a 4-3 victory for the Ford girls !  On Sunday in Ripley @ 10:00am, our 1st morning game of the season to play South Bruce . Kincardine missing 3 players and no call ups for this game available , and after playing in the morning following a Saturday night may have been a factor in the loss of stamina and energy level that seemed lower than normal. The 1st period for both team stayed scoreless, with both having several chances to pop one in . The 2nd period played out with both teams scoring a goal to head into the 3rd period 1-1 . The South Bruce took a go-ahead goal in hte 1st 5 minutes of the 2rd, leaving 10 minutes only for Kincardine to catch up, and even with the goalie pulled for last 1:10 of the game, Kincardine just ran out of gas, to finish with a loss 2-1 in a close game . The Kincardine Midget girls are now preparing for their 1st season tournament in Simcoe Nov 30 @ the Cassie Turner Memorial Tournament . Currently the Ford ladies are ranked 2nd in their league grouping .
