The Atom AE Kinucks hit the 500 mark in WOAA play-offs with
two wins and two losses, following a 2-1 home ice victory over the BCH Ice
Dogs, last night.
The WOAA play-offs commenced with a 2-1 Kincardine victory
over the Mount Forest Rams, thanks to goals from Carson ‘The Jet’ Boettinger
and Sam ‘The Flow’ MacTavish. This game also saw the steady defensive play of
Lauren ‘Lidstrom’ Thede get some well-deserved recognition, as he collected her
first assist of the season!

culmination of the regular season saw the Kincardine Atom AE Kinucks claim
second place in the standings, putting them up against the bottom placed
Saugeen Shores Storm for the All Ontario play-offs. Although that might read
like a good thing for the Kinucks, with four regular season victories over
Saugeen Shores, the Kincardine coaching staff had an uneasy feeling starting
this, knowing that the Storm had improved significantly over the year.

The Kincardine Atom AE Kinucks readied themselves for the
upcoming All-Ontario and WOAA play offs, as they spent a weekend at the Elmvale
Tournament.
The morning of the tournament opening day would see
Kincardine play in a chilly Wasaga Beach Arena while the outside temperatures
hung around minus 30. However, the cold temperatures didn’t seem to have any
impact on the Kinucks since they would prove to be red hot on the ice!

The Atom AE Kinucks closed out their regular season with back to back wins against the Saugeen Shores Storm and the BCH Ice Dogs. These results could leave the Kinucks in second place in their division, in readiness for the all Ontario and WOAA play offs.
