The Kincardine Atom Rep Girls travelled to Ayton to play the West Grey Warriors on Thursday, February 26 in the 3rd game of their playdown schedule. With 2 wins under their belt, the girls were confident they could make it 3 in a row. The teams met twice prior to Thursdays game with the Kinucks taking both games. The mood in the dressing room was upbeat, but the girls knew that it was a clean slate and past success meant nothing in the round robin playdown format.

The tumultuous weather that we experienced during the week subsided in time for the hometown Canadian Tire Atom Rep Girls to meet the Markdale Shooting Stars at the Tiverton arena on Saturday Feb. 21st.  This was the second of 6 play-down games that will determine who travels to play in the Provincial Tournament in April.  The Kinucks experienced success against the Stars in previous encounters, but true to form, Coach Gratto's message to the girls was that skaters who work the hardest and get to the puck first will win, and that each game is a clean slate; past success means nothing in the ...
