Kincardine Peewee Girls B Team Earn 3 Shutouts
On Saturday October 18, the Kincardine Peewee B girls played a double header against the North York Peewee Girls.

The first game had both teams skating hard, but with 4 minutes left in the first period, Claire Hunsburger scored a rebound shot from Lauren Thede to put a point on the board and begin the trend. With 2:39 left in the first, Lauren O’Hagan put one top shelf from Thede to make it 2-0. Continuing the scoring trend, Aysha Machan did a wrap around to give the girls a 3-0 lead. With 1 minute left in the first, Jessica Anderson put one over the goalie off a pass from Machan and Georgia Tanner.  The second period appeared tougher to find the twine but with 6:47 left, Machan with a wrist shot from Anderson sent one home making it 5-0 and a need to switch up goalies for North York. The third period proved to be an equal battle for the puck as no goals were scored giving net minder, Marcelle Platt, a shutout and the Kincardine Kinucks a 5-0 victory.

Game two, played at 5pm, also against North York Storm, proved to be much the same, with most of the action in the North York end. Period one saw goals from Aysha Machan, assisted by Georgia Tanner and Lauren Thede; Jessica Anderson, assisted by Machan and Tanner; Claire Hunsburger, assisted by Lauren O’Hagan; and Heidi Allen, assisted by Joanne Page and Maddie Gallant. With a 4-0 lead for the Kinucks, the second period continued with scoring from; Machan, assisted from Tanner and Anderson; Machan from Tanner and Thede; and, O’Hagan from Page and Gallant. The third period saw action from Machan assisted by Thede and O’Hagan, finishing the game with an 8-0 victory for the Kinucks and another shutout for Platt.

On Sunday, the girls had a road trip to Alliston to play the Clearview Icecats.  The first period saw action from Machan assisted by Emma Dixon; Hunsburger assisted from O’Hagan; and, Anderson, unassisted, to give the girls a 3-0 lead over the Icecats.  Tanner also showed her talent by putting one between the pipes in the second period bringing the score to 4-0.  Although the Icecats tried to come back, the damage was done and the Kincardine Kinucks took a 4-0 victory over the IceCats earning Platt her third shutout of the season.
