Weekend Sweep for Peewee Girls B
On Saturday, October 25th, the Kincardine Peewee Girls B Team travelled to the University of Guelph to revisit the Gryphons.  With the advantage of big ice and fast skaters, the first period saw goals from Aysha Machan (unassisted) and Lauren O’Hagan from a stellar set up by Claire Hunsburger.  The defence lines stood strong as no shots were taken on goal tender Marcelle Platt.

The second period remained uneventful with the exception of a rush from defencewoman Emma Dixon, who took the puck coast to coast in an effort to earn a point.  With a 2-0 lead in the third, the Kinucks gave it their all.  Adding to the scoreboard were Hunsburger (unassisted) and Georgia Tanner from Machan to make it 4-0.  The third saw some excitement when Claire Hunsburger was going in for the shot and was hooked down to be rewarded a penalty shot.  Although given the opportunity to increase the score, the Gryphons goalie stood tall and shut Hunsburger down.  With 1:24 left in the third, Machan earned the final point from a pass from Tanner and Jessica Anderson to give the Kinucks a 5-0 win over the Gryphons.

The road trip continued Sunday with a trip to Caledon to play the Caledon Coyotes.  The first period flew by with the puck seeing both ends but not seeing any twine.  The second period saw a point on the board with a goal from Lauren O’Hagan assisted by Heidi Allen to make it 1-0 for the Kinucks.  The action continued into the third period with 1:11 left, Machan sent one home assisted by Emma Dixon to give the Kinucks a 2-0 win over the Coyotes.

The girls are back on the road for an overnight trip to play North York and Vaughan next weekend to complete another 3 games.  Good Luck Ladies!!!!
