Kincardine Peewee Sobeys Girls Start November With 3 Wins
On Saturday November 1st, the Kincardine Sobeys Peewee Girls B rep travelled to North York  to play another match with the North York Storm.  With the puck consistently in the opponents end, the girls worked the puck well with great passing.  With 1:16 left in the first, Lauren O’Hagan began the scoring for the Kinucks, followed not long after by a goal from Heidi Allen with the assist going to Claire Hunsburger to give the Kinucks a 2-0 lead.

The Second period saw goals from Hunsburger off Allen to make it 3-0,  Lauren Thede from the point to make it 4-0, and Aysha Machan to make it 5-0.  Great defensive playing by the Kinucks with the forwards working hard to keep it in the opponents end.  In the third, with 6:35 left, Machan snuck one between the pipes only to do it again and earn a hat trick and give the Kinucks a 7-0 win over the North York Storm.

Game 2 was played at Vaughan Sports Village Arena. Kincardine was first to put a point on the board by Heidi Allen with 1:31 left.  With a 1-0 lead, the Kinucks met their match when the Vaughan Flames snuck one past goaltender Marcell'e Platt to make it 1-1 in the second.  Still on a mission, Allen came back to get the go ahead goal with 5:44 left in the period.  With 1:09 left, it was Hunsburger who melted the ice to skate the puck and send it home to make it 3-1 for the Sobeys Kinucks.  In the third period, Kinucks Jessica Anderson came close to earning a point only to have it called back by the refs, but three minutes later Hunsburger made it a sure thing by shaking the twine and earning the final point for the Kinucks over the Vaughan Flames and a 4-1 victory.

Game  3 was an early start in Vaughan against the Flames.  Play seemed to be equal with the puck seeing both ends and lots of shots on net.  The Kinucks performed lots of plays and great team work but were unable to rattle the twine.  The second period saw the Flames and Kinucks again in equal pursuit, with goaltender Platt making some stellar saves.  The forwards were using their points to set up some great plays but still leaving the nets empty at the end of the second.  The third period saw plenty of shots on net and again, strategic passing.  With 4:57 left, Kinucks Georgia Tanner put one between the pipes and a point on the board to make it 1-0 for the Kinucks.  To finish the weekend off, Lauren O’Hagan, with 2:13 left also put one in the slot to finish the game with a 2-0 win for the Kincardine Sobeys Kinucks over the Vaughan Flames  and a three game weekend win for the Kinucks!

Next game will be Nov 8th vs. Caledon.
