Kincardine Sobeys Peewee Girls rep team - Celly Weekend Wins
On November 8th, the Kincardine Sobey’s Peewee Girls Rep Team hosted the Caledon Coyotes to a rematch in the Tiverton arena.

The first period saw a goal produced from Jessica Anderson off her own rebound to give the Kinucks a 1-0 lead. Anderson’s wood was still warm when, with 2:37 left in the second period, off a precision pass from Aysha Machan, Anderson sealed her second goal of the game to make it 2-0.

The Coyotes were hungry for a goal and in the third period, snuck one past goaltender Marcell'e Platt to put a point on the board and make it 2-1. Although the game was close and exciting, the Coyotes weren’t quick enough for the Sobeys peewee girls rep team who earned a 2-1 win.

On November 9th, the Kinucks hosted the South Huron Sabres to an exhibition rematch in the Tiverton arena. The girls came out strong, working the puck skillfully.

With 6:23 remaining in the first period, Aysha Machan tipped one in from Georgia Tanner in a scrum in front of the Sabres net to make it 1-0. The game remained action packed with both teams skating the puck end to end. Thirty-one seconds left in the first period, Lauren O’Hagan shook the twine assisted from teammates Heidi Allen and Lauren Thede to make it 2-0.

The game was a fan pleasing one with lots of passing and fantastic plays.

The second period remained tight but halfway through saw finesse from Machan with a wraparound assisted by defencewoman Joanne Page to give the Sobeys peewee rep girls a 3-0 lead.

In the third period, goaltender Marcell'e Platt was tested on her quickness and flexibility in net, but her forward Claire Hunsburger took some pressure off her with a goal assisted from Anderson to make it 4-0 followed a minute later by Machan taking the puck coast to coast, off Anderson and Tanner, to send it home making it 5-0. The fans went crazy with the save of the game when Platt, with 1:32 left in the third, made a stellar save using her flexibility and skate to earn the shutout.

The Sobeys Peewee Girls Rep team will be playing a triple header this weekend as they host the North York Storm, with two games on November 15th in Tiverton and a third game on November 16th at the Davidson Centre.
