Kincardine Sobey's Peewee Girls Rep Meet Their Match!
On November 15th North York Storm’s Allstar team travelled to Tiverton for a double header with the Kincardine Sobey's Peewee Girls Rep team and an exciting weekend of hockey! The Kinucks finally met their match with equal end to end action performed by both teams battling for the win.

In the first game, the first period saw a rush from Maddy Gallant, skating the puck coast to coast and getting a shot on net.  Unfortunately, the Storm came out strong and with 2:07 left in the first period, were able to sneak one past goaltender Marcell'e Platt to make it 1-0 Storm.

The second period saw much of the same action with a shot from Claire Hunsburger on net at the 7 minute mark, but no point to be earned.

The third period was exciting for the fans as the Sobeys Peewee Girls, Georgia Tanner scores the equalizer from Aysha Machan to tie the game up 1-1.  In the last few minutes, Platt saw her fair share of rubber as she used her glove and paddle, but with 1:33 remaining, the Storm thundered through the Kinucks to earn the go ahead point, leading to their 2-1 victory over the Kincardine Kinucks and ending their 12 game winning streak.

The Sobey's Peewee Girls, not pleased with their loss, came out strong in their second game against the North York Storm Allstars.  The first period remained scoreless as the girls worked hard for the point.

In the second period , Claire Hunsburger, off a sweet pass from Heidi Allen and Lauren O’Hagan, put one between the pipes to earn the first point of the game for the Kinucks.  The Storm was quick to answer back and soon it was tied back up 1-1.

Into the third period with 6:11 left to go, Georgia Tanner, on a mission, earns the go ahead goal assisted from teammates Lauren Thede and Aysha Machan.  Trying to tie things back up, the Storm pulled their goalie for the extra player.  Then, with 31 seconds left, defencewoman, Emma Dixon, made the crowd go wild with her empty netter and first goal of the season to give the Kincardine Sobey's Peewee girls a 3-1 victory.

Game three against North York was played in Kincardine on Sunday and was a nailbiter as each team had earned a win the previous day.  An excellent two periods of play went on between the two teams with action in both ends, and all players skating to their fullest ability, leaving the score 0-0.

Then came the third period....The girls gave their fans a stand up performance with their skilled stick work, awesome plays and superb goal tending.  With 3:31 remaining, Aysha Machan sniped the puck and went in to score the first goal of the game.  This got the Sobey's Peewee girls  going and at 2:56 Claire Hunsburger, off a set play from Lauren O’Hagan and Heidi Allen, put another point on the board as she sent the puck home.

Again, trying to make a come back, the North York Storm pulled their goal keeper for the extra player, but with 1:39 left, Machan again, rattled the twine with assistance from Georgia Tanner and Jessica Anderson to give the Kinucks a 3-0 win.

The Kincardine Sobey's Peewee Rep Girls team goes on the road to Fergus Community Centre to play the Grand River Mustangs on December 6th and will host the Mustangs in Kincardine on December 7th.
