On Saturday December 13th, the
Kincardine Sobey’s Peewee Rep Girls hosted the Vaughan Flames to another game of
hockey. Both teams appeared to play hard
and rush the puck, but neither team was able to earn a point as the game
remained a 0-0 tie game. Kincardine’s
defencewomen Maddy Gallant and Emma Dixon were full of energy and managed to
get a few rushes to the net and had great defensive plays for the team.
On Sunday December 14th, the Kinucks travelled to Caledon to revisit the Caledon Coyotes. The first period produced equal play, but shotly in to the second period, Kincardine’s Georgia Tanner sniped the puck and swooped to the net scoring a wraparound to earn the first point. The excitement continued to the third period when Claire Hunsburger, off a precision pass from Lauren O’Hagan, was able to fire one past the Coyotes goalie to make it 2-0 for the Kinucks. The Coyotes were working hard and with determination and 3:43 left on the clock managed to put one over the pads of goaltender Marcell'e Platt to make the score 2-1 final for the Kinucks.
The Kincardine Sobey’s Peewee Girls Rep team will host the Clearview Icecats in Tiverton on Saturday December 20th for a doubleheader and on Sunday December 21st will travel to the University of Guelph to play the Guelph Gryphons.
