The first period saw goals from Georgia Tanner (assisted by Aysha Machan) and Maddy Gallant (assisted by Tanner), who scored her first goal of the season! This gave the Kinucks a 2-0 lead.

The second period saw goals produced from Aysha Machan (assisted by Joanne Page), Tanner (unassisted) and Claire Hunsburger (from Lauren O’Hagan and Joanne Page) to continue with a 5-0 lead.

Into the third, goals were scored by Machan (unassisted), and Tanner (unassisted) to earn Tanner a hat trick! The girls ended the game with a 7-0 victory!

On Sunday Jan. 18th, the Grand River Mustangs travelled to Kincardine to play a rematch with the Kincardine Sobeys Peewee Girls Rep team.

The first period saw lots of skating from the Kincardine “braided beauties” but no scoring action.

The second period got exciting with 6:34 left on the board when Claire Hunsburger shook the twine (assisted by Lauren O’Hagan), giving the Kinucks the lead.  Soon to follow, with 5:27 left on the clock, Aysha Machan wristed one past the Mustangs goalie to make it 2-0 for the Kinucks.  Then to finish off the period, with 1:03 remaining, Machan again earned the point with a reflected shot off the goalie.

The third period remained calm until the Mustangs came on strong and snuck one past goaltender Marcell’e Platt, with 1:41 remaining to make the final score 3-1 in favour for the Kincardine Sobeys Peewee Girls.
