Montgomery Ford girls had a busy weekend
The Montgomery Ford Midget girls had a busy weekend with some hockey and a team Secret Santa party hosted by the Clubb family on Friday night , with a social time, nice food and pizza and a team cake supplied by Bill & Diane Clubb, there were lots of Xmas treats , cookies and candy brought by all the other team mates, this was not a time to worry about diets that was for sure.
The girls and coaching staff all had a fun secret gift exchange and finished the evening with a game of pictionary. Thanks very much to the Clubb family for hosting this event.
The team now had to get into the swing of things again and unfortunately had a very small bench on Saturday as they traveled to Markdale to play the Shooting Stars "B" team with only 2 lines. The game was very close and even in the 1st period with a score of 2-2. Because of the double shifting , we started losing ground and slowly running out of gas, then unexpectdily Eartha Phorson's ankle gave out , now down to 9 players, Markdale scored in middle 2nd period to goal ahead and in the 3rd period scored 2 more for a 5-2 win. With them a "B" team and us "C" it was not a loss that needs attention as they are a good team and our girls took xmas treats over to the Markdale dressing room after the game to share from left overs from our team party on Friday night :)
On Sunday the Ford ladies traveled to Chatsworth to play TCDMHA Rebel's "C" team in a league game, well the 1st period was certainly intense and the Kinucks managed to take a 1 goal lead, but TCDMHA certainly kept the pressure on Tomani tonight and both teams stayed scoreless in the 2nd period. After a team meeting before the 3rd period and still 1-0 for Kincardine, the girls started alot different game play and managed to pick up 3 more nice earned goals for a 4-0 victory to split the games this weekend and Tomani picks up 8th shut out this season !
