Montgomery girls lose 2 this past weekend
After a good weekend down in Exeter @ the Pink on the rink tournament and the Montgomery Ford Midget girls "C" team winning their division,  as any good things that happen for some reason there seems to be something to devert those happy times to a opposite and converse as a negative. Well the team recieved a notification from the OWHA arounf 11:00am Monday morning to be recatorgized to a "B" team from C" , as another team from likely our league sent a application into the OWHA  with reasons why they felt we should be a "B" team and re catorgirized .

Needless to say we feel we are a decent "C team, but "B" is above our level as players leaving our system to go play Saugeen hockey has truley affcted this over time .  The coach and manager of the Ford Kinucks went to work on Monday night immediately  reviewing the teams entire season stats and games played vs other centers and none of it added up that we were good enough to play "B", we presented a case with stats and a written rational letter and emailed this into the OWHA on Wednesday  and their decision came back after the 8 person panel reviewed our case on Friday Jan 15th @ 5:00pm to advise us that our record proves we should and will stay a "C" team this season which is where we should be ! To back this decision up the team had 2 away games this weekend , on Friday night traveled to Walkerton for a game vs their "B" team, losing 5-4 , close and well played game on both sides. Then on Sunday the Ford girls traveled to Markdale to play the Shooting stars "B" team who are undefeated in the WOAA league this season. With 2 bantam call-ups to help out with a shorter bench ( Lily Freighburger & Callie Martyn ) the team played their best, having a close game afte 2 periods , keeping the score to a 3-3 tie, however in the 3rd period after the flood, MArkdale opened up and brought the rain, winning 6-3, scoring goals from both games as follows Megan Stewart-Kemp-1 / Daniel McBride-1 / Ashely McConnell -1 / Eden McFarlane-1 / Liliy Freighburger-1/ Madison McBride -2 . The girls are off to Lions Head wed night to play the Bruce Peninsula "B" team , taking a bus from the D/C
