The Ford girls had a busy week of games

Ford Midget girls had a busy week of games as they get close to the end of
regular season, awaiting the start of playoffs which should begin sometime the
1st week in Febuary ! The team rented a bus from Young's bus for a trip to Lions
Head to play Bruce Peninsula on Wed night, with no time for dinner for the girls
and coaching staff prior to bus departing. Montgomery Ford's new general manager
Craig Beck supplied the team with pizza for the trip up which the girls enjoyed.
After the long trip, the team had their stretch and went into battle having a close game to finish with a tie 4-4, coming from behind and scoring the tying goal with 1:25 left on the clock. This tie made the trip home more enjoyable with the team trying to study for exams on the bus. Then on the weekend just past, the Ford girls played two games in the D/C , on Saturday, played the Walkerton "B" team, which was another very close match, winning 2-1, once again coming from behind scoring our 2 goals in the 3rd period for the victory. On Sunday following the Bulldogs game,the girls had another nail biter and put together a very tough fought win over Bruce Peninsula with a 3-2 win, clinching the game in the 3rd period with 4 minutes left to play and this game had to play with out Alice Thorpe for 4 minutes while she served her 1st penalties of the season ! The coaches were very pleased with their effort this weekend past, which is a good time to start having their best of season playing with the start of playoff's ! Scoring for the team over the 3 games were Megan Stewart-Kemp -1 / Rainor Kuz-1 / Kelsey Padfield -1 /Eden Mcfarlane - 3 / Georgia Fields -3 .
The team have 2 more games at home next weekend , they're in Silver Stick on the weekend of Feb 6-8th in Saugeen Shores, games are posted on the website !
