Home Hardware Kinucks fall in Quarter Finals
The Home Hardware sponsored Kincardine Novice Kinucks continued their hockey education at the Bill Batten Tournament, last weekend.

They made an early start to their tournament on Friday morning, facing the Wallaceburg Lakers, who were seeking revenge following an earlier defeat in the Tillsonburg Tournament.

The Kinucks have benefited from the solid goaltending partnership of Cam Carney and Jordan 'The Great China' Wall so far this season! This tournament would prove to be no different.

Unfortunately for the Kinucks, they would learn an early lesson at the hands of Wallaceburg. Seeking revenge, the Lakers simply appeared to have a much greater desire than the Kinucks and they'd snatch a 3-1 victory, from the young Kinucks.

Next up, continuing the nautical theme of opposition that the Lakers had started, would be the Port Colbourne Sailors. This would be nothing short of devastating for the Sailors, despite their hard work and best efforts. You had to feel a little sorry for the opposition, as Kincardine delivered a 12-0 demolition, severely out classing their opposition. Goals and assists would be provided by: Trent Houghton (5+2), Ty McQuillin (5+2), Jack Charbonneau (1+0), Jack Beddington (1+0), Jordan McDonald (0+3), Joshua Cuyler (0+2), Brody Lyndon (0+2), Ryerson Carnell (0+1), Zak Fletcher (0+1) and Beckett Graham (0+1).

This was a good result overall, with solid performances from many including but not limited to Jack Charbonneau and Carter Drake. Continuing their strong individual starts to the season were Brody Lyndon, Joshua Cuyler and Ty McQuillan whom have all been impressive thus far, in my personal opinion.

The quarter final game resulted in a 3-0 loss against a strong Mooretown Junior Flags team, with all goals coming in quick succession, in the third period. These young Kinucks continue to learn the lessons from winning and losing, and they're shaping up to be a talented young team.
