Kincardine and sponsor Sobey's will be proud to know their PeeWee Girls Kinucks were perfect ambassadors to represent their town and of coursetheir fans who travelled to take in their success this past weekend.Game One saw back and forth action in the first period against a strong team from Oshawa before the girls found their scoring touch. Mikhayla Bowes put Kincardine on the scoreboard in the second period unassisted. This seemed to spur the Kincucks on as they took control after settling inafter the coaching staff of Corey Colhoun and Dave Baker set them back on their game plan. Three minutes later Maddy Duncan scored from Jessica Satosek to get the girls up by two. Third period action saw the girls takefull control of the ice and finished off the game with a goal by Victoria Krulicky assisted by Lauren Jolley. Morgan Baker starts out the tournament strong with her first shutout.Game two on Friday evening found the girls against tournament favourite St. Thomas on paper only. Many chances were available to the Kinucks asthey dominated mid-ice play for the majority of the contest. The St.Thomas goaltender was a force to be reckoned with as many shots were stopped at all angles. Kincardine was the first on the board in the first period but St. Thomas, as determined as they were, pocketed only one inthe third frame to tie the game up 1-1. Goal was scored by Krulicki fromVanessa Hodgins.Saturday afternoon game time had the girls fully refreshed and pumped toplay as they met the home team Cambridge. This was a one sided affair asthe girls dominated all aspects of the hockey game. Goals by CassidyColhoun, Hailey Allen, V. Krulicki, J.Satosek, and V. Hodgins. Assists byKrulicki, Allen, Hodgins and Satosek. Final score 5-0. This puts theKinucks in the final against their previous rival St. Thomas. Shutoutnumber two for Morgan Baker.
