HOME HARDWARE NOVICE KINUCKS WIN DURHAM TOURNAMENT

On Saturday the team travelled to Durham for a one day tournament with the goal of playing three games.  The team only gave up one goal over the course of the whole day, with strong goaltending from Jared Petrie and Ryan Wheeler.  The team was very solid defensively and throughout the day limited the opponents scoring chances.

In game one the Kinucks played Stayner and won 8-1.  Leading goal scorer Jordan Moulton led the way with four goals, Wilson Shipp (2), Jordan Beisel, and Cody McLelland had singles.  Assisting on the goals were Beisel (2), Shipp, and Mitch Pyke.

The second game after a long break was against Dunnville.  The Kinucks kept the strong play up and earned a 7-0 victory.  Moulton scored three goals, Beisel (2), and Shipp (2).  Setting up the goals were Heidi Allen, Beisel, Pyke, Moulton and Owen Thorn.

Now that the team had two wins they would play Cayuga in the Championship game.  Cayuga had a very strong goalie and kept the game close, however the strong forecheck and pressure by the Kinucks was too much to handle.  Kincardine would go on to win the game 3-0.  Goals came from Moulton, Beisel and Cody McLelland into the empty net to seal the victory.  Assists went to Moulton and Noah Swann.

The team will now spend the week preparing for there trip to Michigan next weekend to play in the International Silver Stick tournament.
