Exh Game 7 - Nov 10 at Walkerton
Friday night for Kincardine Kinucks Novice C Girls team consisted of a fun and action-packed game hosted by the Walkerton Capitals, with some taking advantage of post-game celebrations at the town’s cherished Garage Pizza.

There was plenty of back and forth between the two teams in the first period with the Kinucks having several shots on the Capital’s net.  With just two minutes to spare Brette Stewart caught a breakaway, placing the first game-goal on the boards for the Kinucks.  Seconds later the Capitals would respond, bringing the game to a tie.  The Kinucks continued to work well together in the last minute of the game with Sadie White ready at the net to accept a pass from Lilly O’Handley to earn a second goal for the Kinucks.

The second period saw heavy use of the entire pad with the Girls exchanging control of the plays.  Again, the Kinucks would take several attempts on the Capital’s net without a goal.  Half-way through the period, Defense Lilly O’Handley intercepted a play by the Capitals in their end to score the Kinucks’ third game goal.  Reminiscent of the first period, the Capitals responded moments later, keeping the game neck in neck.

Period number three worked both teams hard as the plays continued to move up and down the ice.  The girls worked their passing and back-checking well, and Defense worked well together when the game play moved into Kinuck territory.  One final goal would ring for the game, scored by Center Avery Boulton with an assist by Marley Adams before the buzzer went to signal the end of the game.

Pretty great way to spend a Friday evening!  Well done, Kinucks!

Final score: 4:2
