The Girls took back to the ice on Saturday, January 6th
after a very white Christmas, against the TCDMHA Rebels on home ice.
In the first, TCD came out strong despite a short bench and scored with a minute left after an active period.
In the second, Defensive lines on both sides continued to challenge each other. Half way through the second, TCD scored again. With the next faceoff, however, the Kinucks carried out a play with Center Avery Boulton passing the puck in between two TCD Rebels to Aera Armstrong to score! With some momentum going, the Kinucks executed a beautiful play before the buzzer would ring with Defense Ava Hogan intercepting a Rebels attempt and passing the puck to Lilah Rock. Rock used the board to progress the play past the Rebel’s Defense and passed up to Brette Stewart to score again for the Kinucks! The second period ended at a tie.
The third period was active again with plenty of back and forth. After some heavy play at the Rebel’s end, Sadie White caught a rebound from Gracie MacIntosh to score for the Kinucks. The Rebels weren’t far behind and scored on a breakaway. After the next faceoff, the play returned to the Rebels end with Avery Boulton accepting a pass from Sadie White to put the score back in Kinuck’s favour. The Rebels, never tiring, responded with another goal and in the next minute Kinuck’s Winger Lilah Rock scored, assisted by Lilly O’Handley and Area Armstrong! The Rebels wouldn’t leave with a loss, however, as they found the net one last time to maintain a tie game.
