Canadian Tire Atoms beat Goderich 3-0 in Silver Stick Game 3.
Written by Tracy Primeau
Thirty five seconds into the 1st period, Ethan Long scored assisted by Brett Burrows. Great passing from Burrows to Kurt Dunsbier to the net was saved by the Goderich goalie. Later in the period Long scored again, assisted by both Bretts this time; Burrows and Colhoun. Defensive play by Dunlop kept the score 2-0.
Nice glove save by Primeau at the beginning of the 2nd was followed by a couple of rushes on the Goderich net by Rhys Vollmer and a beautiful shot by Colhoun, all stopped by Goderich’s goaltender.
In the third period a pass from Craig Luinstra to Vollmer was denied but then Long gets his hat trick assisted by Burrows and Bradley Pickett. Primeau makes a save with no stick and help from Ben Netzke and Raven Sharp. The third period was a very offensive one for Kincardine even though there were a few penalty kills required. Primeau got his first shut out thanks to a great team effort.
