In the first period, both teams played well. Brett Burrows started the game off with a break away and made a nice pass to Long however Twin Centre’s goalie caught the puck. Sharp made several good blocks to keep the puck on the opponent’s side of the ice. There were no goals in the first period, however Dunsbier did make a great block giving himself a chance at a shot on net. The Kincardine team had some great passes and many shots on the net. Twin Centre did however receive a penalty for tripping.

Our defence Skinner and Sharp were hard to get past leaving Twin Centre with no goals in the second period. Dunlop made several good passes and gave Long a chance at a shot at net.

Primeau was undefeated, catching the puck in and out of his goalie glove. Not one goal got past Ethan Primeau during the second period.

Twin Centre received their second penalty for hooking. Dunsbier made a great shot at net during the power play. Netzke stopped a breakaway keeping the game 0-0 in the second period.

Within the first minute Burrows succeeded in getting the first goal of the game unassisted. Minutes later Long sped past everyone and got our 2nd goal unassisted. We had some great shots by Reardon, Luinstra, Colohoun, Vollmer, and Pickett.

With 9:08 minutes left in the last period, Twin Centre got a goal and another within 2 minutes. Assisted by Burrows and Reardon, Long took a shot at net and we received our 3rd goal.

Sharp received a penalty for tripping with only 4:51 minutes left in the game giving Twin Centre a chance at a power play. At 4:45 minutes, Twin Centre received their 3rd goal tying the game 3-3. Netzke was able to get another shot at net. Long made some great skate moves and got a hat trick for the team. His goal was unassisted. Twin Centre received another penalty for body contact with only 1:37 minutes left in the game. Sharp received another penalty for hooking with only 32.5 seconds left however Kincardine skated strong right to the end and won 4-3.

Kincardine received the Consolation Banner for the Wingham Regional Silver Stick Tournament. Congratulations Atom Rep! Well Done!

The tournament was a great success and we would like to thank the coaches Dave Burrows, Mark Long, Dean Netzke and Jeff Fyke who did a great job!
