Canadian Tire Atoms lose to the Listowel Cyclones
Written by Tracey Primeau

After a brutal loss to Listowel last week, the Kinucks played a much better game this week and they were short three players.  Rhys Vollmer was playing defence and did a great job.  The first period started off fairly even with play in both ends of the ice.  Listowel got a power play goal making the score 1-0 at the end of the first even though Ethan Long and Bradley Pickett made a great try at the net.

Shortly into the second period there was a great rush on the Kincardine net by the Listowel players stopped by Ethan Primeau with help from Vollmer.  Long had another great shot with no goal.  Brett Burrows finally got one in with help from Danny Skinner and Raven Sharp.  Kincardine got lots of chances on the power play that followed keeping the pressure up for the entire two minutes but at the end of the 2nd it was 1-1.

At the beginning of the 3rd a good shot on Kincardine’s goalie got by him making the score 2-1 for Listowel.  Kincardine ended up with a 5 on 3 advantage and the goal was scored by Ben Netzke with help from Owen Fohkens and Bradley Pickett.  Unfortunately Listowel returned the favour with another goal on Kincardine.  Nice attempt by Long and Burrows followed up by a strong penalty kill.  Listowel scored again over the shoulder of Primeau making the final 4-2 for Listowel although Kincardine tried it’s best to even it up in the last few minutes of the game.
