Komets vs Novice 4 - October 23
It was a beautiful sunny morning on Saturday, October 23rd but the Scotia Bank Kincardine Komets weren’t concerned with the weather. They had a more important matter at hand – their first game against their friends on Novice House League 4.

First period opened with a great shot on our net which was stopped by goalie Nathan Williams. Reilly Colhoun had a good attempt at a goal but it was stopped by Marcelle Platt, goalie from LL4. Great defence was seen by Bailey Pierson. Noah Page fought for the puck but it was sent down the ice and saved by Williams. With just three minutes left in the first period, Noah Swann placed the puck directly between the pipes, making the score 1-0. Before the buzzer sounded, Mitch Pyke had a great shot which hit the post and came out. Joanne Page grabbed the rebound and had a few valiant attempts at sending that puck home but with no luck.

Second period saw many more great saves by Nathan Williams. At one point, Noah Swann sent the puck between the pads of Nathan Williams but the whistle had already sounded for an offside call – no goal. With just over a minute left before the buzzer sounded, Gordie Reaume fought the puck out of the corner and placed it between the pipes. The score was now evened up at 1-1. With the puck in play again, Zack Eybergen of LL4 skated it down the ice but was stopped just short of a goal by Noah McArthur.

The final period was just beginning when Swann took the puck and let it fly high over Williams’ head and straight into the net, bringing the score up to 2-1. Jacob Sylvester had a great shot which sent the puck out of our zone. Colhoun had another close shot on net and the third period ended with Williams making another save. Throughout the game, Cale Gibson repeatedly handled the puck with ease, taking it out of our danger zone and skating it up to the other net but to no avail. The game finished with a score of 2-1 for LL4. Great playing by all on both sides.
