Black Attack against Blue
After a hardworking-showdown the evening before, the Black Attack laced up their skates for a quick turn around game Saturday morning against Novice Blue.

This game was all about putting into practice the essential hockey skills the Black is honing with each meet up. Led by the solid goal-tending of Aaron Urie for 30 minutes of hockey fun, the Black demonstrated their schooling against Blue's sharp-shooting players. The defence was put to work right off the hop with the Blue attacking in Period 1 to knock one in at 1:15. The Black shook it off to quickly to mount a smart defensive effort. Number 9, Jude Hodgins once again showed his metal, taking the hard-hat award, he skated hard and repelled Blue aided by Number 11 Ella Jones, Number 7 Addyson Richards, Number 4 Ava Rothmaien, No 2 Colby Palmer and Number 6 Sophia Nancekeville. While Goalie Aaron Urie was bull-dog tuff, darting from one side of the net to the other--stopping direct shots and sneaky attempts to hook goals in the corner. Black's defensive test proved to be up against the blazing red gloves Blue Number 8 Kole McCormick and his wicked upshot. But Black repeatedly answered this test, breaking up Blue plays and frustrating the majority of their scoring attempts. Black offensive side was again strong. While supporting their defence, Black's No. 15 Thomas Harmsworth, No 10 Charlie Hall Edward, No 5 Deven Gouthro,No 2 Colby Palmer and No 14 Ethan Gouthro roared forward to get into the Blue end and take worthy shots on the Blue Goalie Jacob McKitterick. In the end, Blue came out on top for the day with a score 5 to 0. Yet, the Black showed the finest elements of hockey leading with their great sportsmanship and that as a team each player is developing solid skills they put into play. On this day, the biggest win was that this team gets better each time they get out on the ice. Submitted by Erin and Ian Gouthro
