Hockey day in Kincardine game ends in a tie for the Atom Girls.
The Kincardine Scotiabank Atom girls started their season
with an exciting game against Saugeen Shores during hockey day in Kincardine on
Saturday.
Scoreless in the first, the girls worked hard end to end
fighting for chances to score. At 4:46 left in the second period Emma Dixon opened
the scoring, assisted by Taylor Carney and Heidi Allen. Saugeen Shores answered with back to back goals.
The girls defense was tested early in the third, working hard to keep it
within one. Both teams battled hard for the puck and had some great
shots on net, keeping both net minders on their toes.
With 2:28 left in the third, big assists from McKenna Brown and Elizabeth Casciano helped Emma Dixon score the tying goal. For a final of 2-2
Emma Dixon was awarded player of the game as she played a great defensive game, she worked hard every shift, and she scored both goals for Kincardine.
