Scotiabank Atom girls put two losses and a tie behind them before the break.
With the hustle and bustle of the holidays please excuse the delay. Here are the game reports for Dec 14, 20 and 22nd.

After an exciting win on Friday the 13th the Kinucks were in Wingham the following day, Heidi Allen scored only 9 seconds into the first hoping to spark the Kinucks momentum. The girls continued to bring the grit and shots on net but struggled to beat the Lucknow-Wingham net minder. The final was a 4-1 for Wingham.

Friday Dec 20th saw the girls at home against West Grey Girls, for a nail biting game. Macara Brooks strapped on the pads for Kinucks and our strong defense did an amazing job of keeping shots on her to a minimum.
Heidi Allen opened the scoring again lighting the lamp first for the girls late in the first.
Ella Gratto scored halfway through the second assisted by Morgan, putting the girls up by 2.

The third was full of drama and excitement. The period saw penalties for both West grey and the Kinucks but no damage was done on the scoreboard. Then West Grey scored two goals, to tie the game.
The girls skated hard and Heidi and Kennedy assisted Elle as she put the girls up by one with 6:50 left to play. With the Kinucks up by one, we needed to ride the clock when West Grey scored with just a minute left in the game for 3-3 Final.

On Dec 22 the Scotiabank Atoms had their work cut out for them and faced the number one seeded Saugeen Shores Atoms in Southampton .
with exceptional skating the Saugeen Girls set the pace early with two quick goals in the first. In second the Kinucks took a penalty and Saugeen Shores capitalized on their momentum by scoring 3 for the frame.
In the third Mackenzie helped Heidi score her third goal in as many games puttingthe girls on the board.
Saugeen answered by taking a goalie interference penalty but despite some great shots the girls couldn’t find the back of the net.  Saugeen put up 3 more against the Kinucks for a final of 8-1

We had a tough go trying to clear the puck and getting scoring chances but the girls never gave up and worked hard all game. Our goalie faced roughly 30+ shots and made some great saves. The Atoms next game is vs Grey Highlands Shooting Stars at the Davidson centre on Jan 12th at 930am
