Friday the 13th proves lucky for Scotiabank Atom girls C
The Scotiabank Atom girls faced Walkerton C in Tiverton Friday
night. Our goalie Vana Palominos returned
to her crease after being placed on IR list (injured reserve) for three weeks.
Vana played as though she never missed a beat. The
superstitious goalie was unstoppable between the pipes as the Atoms defense was
tested all game.
Despite the great effort all the girls made to clear the puck the Capitals were determined to keep it in our zone for most of the game. Heidi Allen fought hard every shift and with some great passing and assists from Elle and Emma, the Kinucks reaped the benefits with Heidi scoring the Kinucks only two goals.
Lady luck in combination with Vana’s amazing ability to make some wild saves and our defense constantly fighting for the puck, netted the Kinucks another shut out.
By unanimous decision player of the game went to Vana Palominos for making some really tough saves, staying focused on every shot, and for notching her third shutout this season.
