The Kinucks started their March break with a big exhibition win
against West Grey in Tiverton on Friday.
With Coach Pat and Jake Gratto at the helm
the Kinucks were ready to win despite having a short bench and minimal defense.
Halfway through the first, Dakota Christie-Wylds
opened the scoring unassisted, Heidi Allen followed suit just two minutes later. Then
in the dying seconds West Grey fired back with a good goal just beating Vana
making it 2-1 after one.

The Scotiabank Atom girls were in Alliston/Barrie last weekend for the
Clearview March Madness tournament. The
girls held their own and stayed competitive throughout the tourney playing with heart and determination in all four games.
The girls played two games Friday, the first
has us deadlocked at 0-0 against Stratford. In game two the Kinucks took a 2-1 win
against Peterborough.
Saturday saw a late game against Kemptville to go to the
final. Although the girls were a bit tired from all the fun and excitement of
the day. The Atoms battled hard, fighting for scoring chances but come up a bit
short for the loss.

The Scotiabank Atom girls are on a roll after a tough weekend
at silver stick.
The girls faced the
AEMHA Ice Dogs for a home and home this past weekend.
Game one on Saturday was
full of thrills and chills in Tiverton.
In the first period both teams faced the dreaded “too many men”
penalties. AEMHA killed off their penalty unscathed.
Then
towards the end of the third Liz opened the scoring with a long shot end to end
just squeaking by the Ice Dogs goalie. The Dogs barked back thirty seconds
later. A rebound shot, glove side was the only goal that got by Vana.

The Kincardine Scotiabank Atom girls are back in the swing
of things and have had a great couple games back from Christmas break.
The Girls faced the undefeated Grey Highlands Shooting Stars
on Jan 12th and gave them a run for their money. Again our defense came on strong, blocking
shots and giving the Stars a scoreless first period. Early in the second, Grey Highlands opening
the scoring and was able to snipe the one past Vana.
The Kinucks battled back with some great shots just wide of
the Stars net minder. Grey Highlands kept their momentum going and after a few
more saves from our goalie they snuck one between the pipes for a final of 2-0

Player of the game went to Mackenzie Kuntz for her grit and
determination throughout the game.
On Saturday Jan 18th the Scotiabank Girls faced Saugeen Shores for a rematch.

With the hustle and bustle of the holidays please excuse the
delay. Here are the game reports for Dec 14, 20 and 22nd.
After an exciting win on Friday the 13th the Kinucks were in
Wingham the following day, Heidi Allen scored only 9 seconds into the first
hoping to spark the Kinucks momentum. The girls continued to bring the grit and
shots on net but struggled to beat the Lucknow-Wingham net minder. The final
was a 4-1 for Wingham.
